The Superstition Pattern Classic is a 3-day contest from February 19-22, 2026 in Mesa Arizona. It takes place at Superstition Airpark, home of the Arizona Model Aviators. This is an AMA sanctioned event, #18940.

The contest will follow the common format of 6 rounds for all classes from Sportsman up through FAI, including FAI Silver.

Together with the Desert Pattern Challenge the following weekend, it comprises the Southwest Winter Pattern Championships where the best placing across the two contests is crowned the series champion.

With the high turnout of the past several years, the contest runs as an expanded 3-day contest, Friday-Sunday, with the field open for practice on Thursday. We run 2 rounds each on Friday/Saturday/Sunday, weather permitting. We will run into the afternoon on Sunday if necessary to complete the rounds. The field is open for practice each day after the rounds if time allows (it usually does).
