Aviation has been one of my favorite pastimes since I was a little kid, building and flying rubber powered gliders.  I got into C/L in the the early 70's, then was introduced to R/C in the mid seventies.  After high school, college and life got in the way and I stayed out of modeling until 1994, where I began flying R/C planes.  By 2000, I got tired of just boring holes in the sky and decided to try pattern, as it seemed like the logical choice to further my abilities.  In 2001, I flew my first Pattern contest.  One contest is all it took and have been hooked ever since.

For income, I am a self-employed contract timber faller.  Actually, my career has taken quite a few turns.  In the past, after college, I worked for the US Forest Service, in Timber Sales and Road Engineering.  In 1986, I left them and went back to work falling timber.  In 1992, I took a job as Project Manager for a helicopter firm.  I worked mainly in thelogging industry, but did various projects ranging from moving structures, stringing power lines, to lifting ski lift equipment.  These projects took me from Canada to Mexico, but mostly in Washington, Idaho, and Northern California.  After two years of only seeing my home about twice a year, I decided to return to timber falling and started my own company.
