It is that time of year when pattern calms to only an occassional practice day for most of us in D2. That means all of you CD's should have time to make sure you get your 2012 dates to Buff or myself. I want to make sure this happens early enough to allow other contest to be added to the 2012 season. Yes, it looks like we will have a few more pattern events this coming year. For the ones that are working with their local clubs and need to know when open weekends exist for scheduling again get in touch with Buff or myself.
I have another item I would like to discuss concerning the earning of points when attending contests outside District 2. I would like to increase the numer of contest that count toward district points to at least two. Currently the rule allows for only one contest to count toward district points. I feel if we increase the number we will make it more attractive to attend contests outside our area and we may just increase pattern attendance in other areas. I would also like to know how everyone feels about what contest points should count if you have multiple placements outside District 2. So, I am waiting for the flood of emails and phone calls to come in!!!!
If anyone has any item or items they would like to discuss please let me know. If it should be heard by the whole district, what better way than to put it out on the district web site. By the way I have flown what may be the 2013 version of the Advance Sequence as well as Masters. These sequences are not set in stone at this time but are very close. I felt the Advance sequence was even better in the way it flows when compared to the current sequence. After flying the Masters sequence or should I say after attempting to fly the Master sequence I felt it was not something outside of my capabilities. (With a lot of practice.) Shoot me an email if you would like to get a copy of what may be the future Advance or Masters sequence for 2013. At least I will know someone read this!! By the way the committee is asking for input if you fly the new sequences.
Until next time,
Larry Kauffman
