July Update

E-mail Print PDF

Just a short update to let everyone know what is happening in D2.  Of course everyone that is attending the NATS is practicing as much as time permits or should I say their job, wife or kids permit.  I must say being retired now my practice time has increased.  Will I do any better? Only time and 6 flights will tell.  I recently drove down to the Fredricksburg site to validate the site for pattern flying.  Pictures do not lie. This site is fantastic.  Two flying fields back to back with shade in the middle. Plenty of power and parking.  The fields are wide, long and in great shape. The club members greeted us with open arms.  Guys there is no excuse! I expect a great turn out.  Don't forget this is District 2's finals for 2011.  You will also have a chance to win a new pattern plane kit. (ARF) The club is also asking if we would like to have a Saturday dinner prepared and served after flying is concluded Saturday afternoon.  Price looks to be around $12.00. Meal will include Fried Chicken, mash potatoes, Green beans, rolls, drink and cake or pie.  I need input from all of you that are coming if you would be interested in the dinner. Call or email me!  (As we get closer to the date I will be providing more information)

For those of you going to the NATS or just wish to improve your flying skills Bill and Terry have put together a pre-nats warm up at the Winston Salem club home field.  Dates are on the NSRCA calendar. Check it out. By the way this is not a contest just a chance to fly in front of some guys that know what they are looking for and who will give you some good feed back.  In other words you are going to be told what mistakes you are making.

For those of you that did not attend the D1/D2 shoot out  and just by chance didn't already know,  D2  walked away again with the majority of the honors!!  When will they give up!!

Hope to see everyone at Winston Salem at the NATS warm up.
